The JS10th is a solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1998. It is a signature model of Joe Satriani and part of the Joe Satriani series. It was also referred to as the Chromeboy.
In 1987 Joe Satriani became an endorser of Ibanez guitars. 10 years later in 1998 Ibanez released the JS10th (aka Chrome Boy/Chromeboy) to celebrate a decade long partnership with Joe. These guitars are now among the most sought after guitars made by Ibanez on secondary markets.
The JS10th features a Luthite body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. Components include a pair of DiMarzio humbucking pickups, an original Edge double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.
The rear control cover is inscribed with "In commemoration of the 10 year association and collaboration between Joe Satriani and Ibanez Guitars" along with a unique production number.
A total of 506 JS10th's were produced. Additionally there were a handful of Chromeboys that were refinished by Ibanez and recorded as 507(N), there are at least four of these refinished Chromeboys, but it's not known precisely how many exist.
