Paul Stanley has the first. According to the accompanying GM Vintage Restorations provenance card, this guitar was hand-aged by Gord Miller and finished in a one-off custom color — 1962 Chevrolet Twilight Turquoise — that was not offered on any production model. The provenance card also notes prototype-specific features not found on production models, including a Maestro tailpiece and a two-tone color headstock.

All cosmetic wear on this guitar — the lacquer checking, edge wear, and hardware aging — is factory-intentional relic work, not player wear. Beneath the aging treatment, the guitar shows minimal signs of actual use. Frets, electronics, and hardware all present as expected for a guitar that has seen very little playing time.

The body bears a signature in gold ink on the lower bout. Two photographs are included with the guitar showing Paul Stanley with this specific instrument.

Includes the original hardshell case with blue plush interior (case has also been relic'd) and a set of additional un-relic'd parts: a white pickguard with Starfire logo, a chrome tailpiece component, a black pickguard, a Starfire-branded truss rod cover, and additional hardware. A GM Vintage Restorations provenance card and a Washburn Starfire Time Traveler Series promotional print are also included.

Weighs 8 lbs 2 oz.

If you have questions about this instrument's history, provenance, or specific features, please reach out — we're happy to share what we know.

The Washburn PS2012 Time Traveler was Paul Stanley's USA Custom Shop signature model — a Firebird-inspired reverse-body design built in Chicago and hand-aged by Gord Miller at GM Vintage Restorations to look and play like a decades-old instrument. The production Time Traveler series debuted at the 2013 NAMM Show and was included in Guitar Player's Editors' "2013 Must Have Guitar Gear" list. Production finishes were Pelham Blue, Polaris White, Golden Mist, and Cardinal Red in aged nitrocellulose lacquer.

This guitar is not a production model. It's the second of two prototypes built before the production run, and it carries a one-off finish and features that never made it to the production line. What you see here is where the Time Traveler started — before the spec was finalized.

Body: Solid Mahogany with carved raised center
Neck: Mahogany, Set Neck
Fingerboard: Bound Ebony
Scale Length: 24.75"
Frets: 22
Inlays: Mother of Pearl/Abalone split block
Pickups: 2x Seymour Duncan SM-3 Mini Humbuckers
Controls: 2 Volume, 2 Tone, 3-Way Toggle Switch
Bridge: Tone Pros Tune-O-Matic
Tailpiece: Custom-milled aluminum Star tailpiece
Tuners: Grover 18:1
Headstock: Reverse, two-tone color-matched
Finish: 1962 Chevrolet Twilight Turquoise, Aged Nitrocellulose Lacquer (one-off custom color)
Country of Origin: USA (Washburn Custom Shop, Chicago)
Weight: 8 lbs 2 oz

https://guitarworks.ca/products/2012-washburn-usa-custom-shop-ps2012-paul-stanley-time-traveler-starfire-prototype-2-twilight-turquoise-relic
