Blackstar ID:X Floor Two Modeller

Blackstar's ID:X amp modelling has built a serious reputation over the years for sounding like an actual amp instead of a sample of one. With the ID:X Floor Two, that same component-level modelling moves into a pedalboard-friendly format — and it picks up an integrated expression pedal along the way, which is the main thing separating it from the entry-level Floor One.

You get 12 component-level electric guitar amp models split between six original Blackstar voicings and six Ampton recreations of classic amps from the wider amp world. On top of that, three bass amp models, two acoustic voices, and an acoustic simulator round out the voice library, so this isn't strictly an electric-only box. Blackstar's patented ISF control is on board to sweep between US-leaning and UK-leaning tonal characters, and you can switch between EL84, EL34, and 6L6 power valve responses to change the feel and reaction of whichever amp model you're running. The CabRig IR-based speaker and mic simulation handles cabinet duties, with Blackstar's "In The Room" technology working to give you the sense of an amp moving air in a space rather than the flatter feel of a static IR.

Effects-wise, there are 35+ onboard, broken into Pre FX, Modulation, Delay, and Reverb sections — all editable directly from the top panel via the OLED display and two rotary encoders. No menu diving required for everyday tweaks. Save up to 99 patches on the device itself, and dive deeper through the free Architect software when you want it.

The integrated expression pedal handles wah, volume, or any assignable effect parameter, with a toe-switch under the treadle and a dedicated button for selecting its function. Connectivity is generous for the format: stereo balanced XLR outs (CabRig), a separate amp out for running into a real power amp and cab with CabRig bypassed, line out/headphones, MIDI in (TRS), a 3.5mm line in for backing tracks, and USB-C that doubles as a multi-channel audio interface. Runs off a standard 9V 500mA centre-negative supply, so it drops onto an existing pedalboard without fuss.

Built into a full-metal chassis, sized to slot into a real-world board, and aimed squarely at players who want pro-level digital tone without spending a weekend learning the menu structure.
